The hike of dollar values as compared to Indian rupee has caused a ruckus to the smartphone industry mainly when the CEO of a smartphone industry addresses it on his Twitter. This results to Realme 2 and Realme C1 Prices Hiked in India.

That’s right, the CEO of Realme – Madhav Seth has recently said on Twitter that due to current fall of rupee, there’s no such way to keep up the same pricing of their products since they are already working on low profits. Further, he said that post-Diwali, their upcoming new Realme products pricing most likely would be growing.

As mentioned, many of the Diwali sales have been ended especially on the e-commerce platforms, and henceforth few of the Realme products prices have been increased. The products that include the price growth are the recently revealed – the Realme C1 and the Realme 2 are examples of these priced hiked.

Although the Realme C1’s price has been raised by Rs 1,000, the Realme 2’s base variant has also been raised up by Rs 500. Still, the company’s latest offering Realme 2 Pro and the earlier released Realme 1 smartphones’ prices haven’t been raised, which is undoubtedly a relief for smartphones consumers.

As for the exact pricing of these hiked smartphone products – the Realme 2 base variant (3GB+32GB) is now available at Rs 9,499 on Flipkart, which earlier cost Rs around 8,999. However, the larger 4G+64GB variant is not changed and it still priced at around Rs 10,990.

And finally, the Realme C1 which was available at around Rs 6,999 for the base variant (2GB+16GB) has been bounced up to Rs 7,999, which puts it in the price range of Xiaomi’s Redmi 5 device.

Even if Realme phones are meant to be aggressively priced especially in this segment with its low margins (as stated by the CEO), the reducing rupee value is damaging the Realme’s effective business model.
